At Black Butte Ranch near Sisters and Bend, large stands of Ponderosa pines and groves of quaking Aspen trees set the scene for a visual journey of the Central Oregon Cascades, including outstanding views of Mt. Having recently celebrated its 40^th birthday in 2010, Black Butte Ranch is one of Central Oregon’s original destination resorts and one that has stood the test of time to remain a popular real estate choice among primary and secondary homeowners. The awe-inspiring scenery teamed with the abundant year-round recreation is what makes Black Butte Ranch such a special place. The Ranch boasts 18 miles of walking/biking paths, which are the heart and soul of the resort. They connect, flow, and allow for exploration of every corner of the sprawling 1800-acre ranch. In addition to the two 18-hole championship golf courses, Black Butte Ranch offers multiple dining options, swimming, horseback riding, tennis, paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking, fly fishing, kids activities, and so much more. The Glaze Meadow Recreation Center is a popular draw, featuring an expansive indoor and outdoor pool complex, as well as a fitness center, steam room, snack outlet, equipment rental shop, retail shop and day spa. The outdoor pool is a masterpiece, with a green grass perimeter, waterfall, children’s pool, fountain play area, hot tub big enough for 18 and lots of comfortable lawn chairs. The family recreation area is just a short walk away, featuring a basketball court, bocce ball and pickle ball courts and horseshoe pits.

While Black Butte Ranch is a public course, memberships are available for residents. The two courses operate on an alternating schedule, with one public and one private at all times. Members also have full access to all resort amenities.
